A or An Before "Historic"

Café Screens
Subtle screening can be used inside or outside of cafés and it provides the customer with a certain sense of privacy. It`s quite common to have a number of establishments standing side by side these days as modern eateries take up prime positions on the high streets and shopping centres of the UK. Certain areas can be segregated by the introduction of the Café Screens and they can be printed upon to act as advertising tools. Perspex, foamex and metal finishes are available and any printwork that is placed upon them will be uv stable so it won`t fade in time. Contemporary coloured Café Screens can look rather funky and they will suit their modern surroundings. Maintenance is never an issue when the screens are used because they can simply be wiped down. Used indoors or outdoors this kind of product can be moved into a variety of positions if the layout of the café needs to change. If a party wanted to section off a corner of the cafe the screens could provide them with all the privacy that they required. Each one of the cafe screens comes with a host of post options that can add to the overall presentation of the business.

Water Jet
A Water Jet is a nautical system that generates a thrust of water. The involuntary system may be a channeled propeller with a nozzle, or a centrifugal pump and a nozzle. A Water Jet has numerous advantages as compared to a bare propeller for some applications. The advantages that a Water Jet has for some applications are related to requirements for high-speed or shallow-draft operations. One disadvantage of a Water Jet is that it may get blocked with seaweed. This may happen when it is ffitted to an outboard engine. The operator must clean the impeller properly. This can be done by stopping the craft, and briefly revving the engine in reverse.

Prentice Hall Reference Guide to Grammar and Usage (2003) says that "a" is used before consonant SOUNDS, not just consonants. Use "an" when the word following it starts with a vowel or an unsounded "h."

The Gregg Reference Manual, Ninth Edition, concurs.<
